This term Hopton’s Willow Class have been involved in the whole school Time Travellers topic.
The children have been pretending to go back in time to visit school in their parent’s and grandparent’s times. They have learnt about the passing of time and the cycle of the seasons.
They have also learnt about the Victorians, played old fashioned games and discovered what Victorian children’s lives were like through pictures and role play.
More recently they have been trying special foods like pancakes at the start of Lent and hot crossed buns which are traditionally eaten on Good Friday.
Willow Class have been learning about some of the stories behind Easter and connected them to the theme of new life. They have investigated life cycles and in particular which animals come from eggs. This week we will be meeting some newly hatched chicks, and on Friday they will be taking part in a traditional Easter Egg Hunt around the school.
At the end of the day when it is time to go home they will also be taking some miniature eggs in the clay baskets they have made.
