Application submitted to ensure long-term preservation of Diss Museum
An application to carry out work at Diss Museum has been submitted to South Norfolk Council.
The work will ensure the long-term preservation of the listed building and deal with internal damp problems.
The application, submitted by Frank Howard, a trustee of the museum, is to remove external render and carry out brick repairs to allow the building to breathe. The plans also include cutting a drainage slot into the tarmac around the museum to allow surface water to drain away.
The application was noted by Diss town councillors at a planning committee meeting on Wednesday, but as the council part owns the building, councillors were unable to vote on the scheme.
The plans will now be heard by South Norfolk Council’s planning committee.
