Human League to play Thetford Forest
Eighties chart-toppers The Human League are the latest band to be added to this summer's series of gigs in Thetford Forest.
Fronted by lead vocalist Philip Oakey and backing singers Joanne Catherall and Susan Sulley, the distinctive band will play the woodland venue on July 9.
At the height of their fame in the mid-1980s, The Human League released a string of hits including Love Action, Mirror Man, Louise, Human and (Keep Feeling) Fascination.
Their million-selling classic single Don't You Want Me brought transatlantic Number 1 success and the album from which it was taken, Dare, became an essential part of the record collection for a whole generation of pop fans.
Peter Rawlinson for the Forestry Commission said: "I am delighted we have secured The Human League as part of this year's live music programme. They are the defining act of their genre and with their stack of hits this should provide a real 'friends reunited' night out."
The Human League will be performing at High Lodge, Thetford Forest, Near Brandon, on Thursday, July 9.
Tickets 29.50 (subject to booking fee) go on sale at 9.00am this Friday 13th March from Forestry Commission Box Office tel 01842 814612 or buy online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music or over the counter from the venue.
Also confirmed to play Thetford Forest are Paul Weller on June 5,
Jools Holland And his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra on June 6, David Gray on July 10 and Sugababes on July 11.
