A day centre which provides a social day out for elderly people and respite for families has celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Hopton and District Day Centre, which opens every Wednesday at the High Street Chapel, marked the occasion with a special cake, a visit from Mayor of St Edmundsbury Patrick Chung- and entertainment from Elvis Presley.
Day care organiser Joyce Barrett said: “He was less of a look-a-like and more of an Elvis tribute. Everyone really enjoyed it.”
The centre has much to celebrate having just been handed a cheque for £5,000 from the West Suffolk Community Chest. Joyce said she would like to thank everyone who helped secure the money including their chairman Lesley Williams and Cllr Carol Bull.
“It will help a great deal, it really will,” she said.
