Group fights fence plan
An action group has been set up to prevent a fence being put around Rectory Meadow in Diss.
The first meeting of Rectory Meadow Action Group was held on Tuesday and members will contact the planning department of South Norfolk Council and individual councillors to find out how far the application has progressed.
The plans by Diss Cricket Club to build a fence around the green space have caused controversy but club members say it is a necessary step against vandalism.
“Our goal is to stop the fence being put up,” said action group chairman Evan Heasley.
