A Framlingham school says the success of its inaugural art festival earlier this month ‘encapsulated everything that is creative’ about its youngsters.
The children at Sir Robert Hitcham’s CEVAP School staged a day of performances of music, dance, drama and poetry on their school field on Monday, June 8, watched on by an audience of fellow pupils, as well as staff, parents and guests.
Taking place in front of a backdrop of the nearby Framlingham Castle, the itinerary for the festival included solo performances from cornet and clarinet players and ensembles of violins, recorders, guitars and even the school orchestra.
A statement from the school said: “The parents and invited guests thoroughly enjoyed the festival.
“We had many positive comments about the exceptional talent of our pupils, and how brilliant it was that we were able to showcase them in this way.”
In addition, the event also featured poetry recitals, singing and dancing ‘extravaganzas’, and excerpts performed based on this year’s school play.
