‘Four to five’ males broke into an elderly woman’s home in Palgrave as she was getting ready to go to bed last night.

It happened at a home in Crossing Road, and the woman, in her 80s, was unhurt.

She was about to go to bed at about 10am when she heard glass smashing and saw the men enter her home through patio doors.

All wore dark clothing and facial coverings. One, described as about 6ft tall and of large build, spoke to her, in an English accent, and told her to sit down.

He stayed with her while the other males searched her home and a short time later they all left, stealing jewellery.

Police were alerted a short time after the men had left and began enquiries.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area around this time or anyone with information about those involved to call Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number ST/15/925.

Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111.
