Cricket with a twist at the Lophams
The winter sports seasons are drawing to a close and already thoughts are turning to leather on willow as the area's teams start their net practices ahead of another summer full of cricket.
One team that is not presently in action is this one, pictured in the early 1950s.
The photograph was brought in by John and Angela Goddard and shows The Lophams ladies cricket team.
The team was not part of a league, but formed for special occasions, according to Mr Goddard.
Often the ladies would take on the 'gents' in a friendly match.
Mr Goddard said the tradition stopped in the late 1950s.
Do you know any of the people pictured? What are you memories of this team or do you have details of any other women's teams in other south Norfolk or north Suffolk villages?
