A super-slimmer and bride-to-be from Eye hopes her experience of shedding the pounds can inspire others when she becomes a Slimming World consultant next month.
Natalie Duke, 39, said her weight yo-yoed, especially after stepping out of an active work environment into an office chair, eventually going up three dress sizes.
But after a friend had lost five stone in her local Slimming World group, she decided to take the plunge and joined the Diss branch.
“I loved it that there was no pressure and you set your own goals and targets at your own pace,” she said. “After about six months I had lost the two stone I wanted to lose and felt great, so much happier and confident then I had done in a long time.”
After falling pregnant with daughter Angel, Miss Duke left the group, and the weight returned. She was born with silent reflux, and Eye resident said it was an “emotional time”, eating when she was feeling low, even if not hungry.
“One day I looked in the mirror I saw this huge person staring at me and it made me sad, I felt so big and unattractive and I was annoyed at myself for not staying at group through my pregnancy where my support was,” she explained. “My confidence was rock bottom and I found myself wearing bigger clothes than needed just to cover any bumps.”

Rejoining the Diss group, in a week she had lost 5lbs, and a stone just after a month. Two-and-half stone was eventually shed in just under a year, and reached her three-stone target. She now hopes to pass on her knowledge and experience to others when she becomes consultant of the Roydon group.
“In September I will be a bride and I am confident not only will I become a proud Slimming World consultant running the Roydon Group – every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm - to some fabulous existing and new members, who I can’t wait to support and pass on help, knowledge and experience too from my own journey, but I will also be a target member.”
