An experienced international businessman and ex-armed forces serviceman will chair the meeting of an influential board in Attleborough for the first time next week after recently being appointed to the role.
Chris Batten will preside over the meeting of the Attleborough Development Partnership Board when the group meets on February 21 at the town hall, and takes over from Tim Mills, who chaired the group on an interim basis.
Before his business career, Mr Batten completed six active service tours for the armed forces. He is currently CEO of a business based in the county.
The board brings together representatives from local councils, businesses, highways, education and other services to coordinate and influence the growth and development of the town.
He is also an active member of the Chamber of Commerce in Norfolk and the Norfolk Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) committee. “I am delighted to join the ADP and look forward to supporting the partners to coordinate growth in Attleborough, with the needs of local residents and businesses in mind,” said Mr Batten.
At the upcoming meeting, members are expected to discuss progress being made in areas including the development of a planning application for the sustainable urban extension and how to prioritise projects to support the development further.
