Arguably one of the biggest dates on the Diss calendar, the eighth annual carnival will return to the town later next month.
This year’s event, which in its current incarnation returned in 2008, will take place on Sunday, June 14. The theme of this year’s carnival parade is ‘Pot Luck’, giving visitors the chance to let their imaginations run wild, starting at 12.45pm.
Carnival co-ordinator Doreen Collins told the Diss Express: “As always we have had great support from businesses and residents which is very much appreciated by the committee.
“We all give an enormous amount of time in organising and we hope it will be an enjoyable family day out again.
“Coming again will be Combat Paintball, Phoenix Rescue and displays include Terri Cave and the Zumba ladies in the Market Place at noon, and the football juggler Joaozinho Rangel at the football club, plus others to be confirmed.”
The Funday will be at the home of Diss Town Football Club at Brewers Green Lane at 2pm, which will see a wide range of events on offer, including live music, fun activities, to demonstrations and displays. Subject to weather conditions, there will also be a flypast of a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Dinsdale, the carnival mascot, will also be brought to life for the very first time, by Frenzy Creative, bringing a friendly face to proceedings.
