Pupils from Gislingham Primary School stepped out to raise money in aid of Sport Relief by holding a sponsored ‘run a mile’, writes Jade Heath
They joined many schools across the nation in raising funds for the charity.
The event, organised by the School Council and led by class teacher Sophie Cordell, raised £1,500. The day saw pupils competing in the mile run in order to raise funds for the charity, with no lack of support from the masses of parents that joined their children.
Assistant Head, Julie Welham said: “We were astounded by the amount of support we received for the event, especially the generosity of our parents and the wider community, which meant we were able to raise such a magnificent sum for Sport Relief.”
The fundraising total was described as an amazing result for the school.
