No MP in our main constituencies won with a majority of less than 10,000 in 2010.

South Norfolk, won by Richard Bacon, South West Norfolk, by Elizabeth Truss and Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, by Dr Dan Poulter can be considered Conservative safe seats.

Their majorities were all strengthened in 2010.

Although the results in the 2015 election are clearly not a forgone conclusion, newspapers always enjoy the cut and thrust of reporting on a key marginal seat.

But of course, the notional ‘safety’ does not mean we should devote any less coverage to the elections locally.

There’s more than enough coverage in national media about party politics. As a local newspaper, we are asking our Prospective Parliamentary Candidates what they would do to help our area.

MPs have the potential to do a lot of good in their constituencies, so we want you to see what their plans are. Stayed tuned in the coming weeks.
