A Diss Rotarian is embarking on a trip to India next week to lend their help in the continuing fight against Polio in the region.
Heather Babb, Junior Vice President of Diss and District Rotary Club, will make the trip with a larger team of Rotarians from Britain, Canada, Mexico and the USA next Thursday, where they will assist in immunising children and babies as part of National Immunisation Day on February 22.
Ms Babb said: “I went out two years ago to help out with the immunisation against polio.
“Having seen how effective it is to treat millions across the country on the same day, I felt that I had to go help again.”
The Rotary team will also be involved in the construction of a water reservoir in Haryana State, and will spend a week in Nepal supporting three anti-trafficking shelters.
