Diss High School vows to fight on after multi-million pound sports funding bid turned down

A Diss school has vowed to fight on to bring improved sports facilities to the community despite suffering a setback in their £3.4 million bid to the Government.

Diss High School submitted a bid under the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund, in the hope of providing a new indoor sports hall, offering badminton, basketball, cricket nets and netball, as well as a full size multi-sport floodlit Astro-Turf style pitch, and high and long jump facilities, for use by the school and wider community.

But the school found out last Friday they had been unsuccessful in their funding bid.
