A Diss Dementia Friendly Day held in the town earlier this month has been hailed as a huge success.

Hosted at the Diss Youth and Community Centre on May 19, more than twenty stands were open at the event, designed to get as many different organisations together in one place, and to give support and information to those people living and caring for an individual with dementia in the community.

Some of the organisations represented at the event included NorseCare, Weavers Court Pabulum Cafe, Age UK and The Denny Centre.

Organiser Beverley Bond thanked everyone who got involved and added: “I know we had people who came and although they felt their situation was hard to talk about, they went away not feeling so alone and knowing there is people out there who care.”

n Weavers Court host the Pabulum cafe every fourth Tuesday of the month, from 10am to noon. For more call 01379 643496
