Diss businessman Pete Gillings has been found not guilty of buying scrap for cash earlier this year.
Mr Gillings, of Mission Road, who operates two businesses in the town, told the Diss Express of his relief this week.
He was accused of paying Trevor Raven £15 in cash for scrap in May.
But he was found not guilty at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The law introduced last year under the Scrap Metal Dealers’ Act 2013 states that all transactions in which metal is traded have to be via non-transferable cheque or electronic transfer.
