Diss Business Forum ‘really proud’ of past year’s achievements

Diss Business Forum has recruited steadily over the last year and now represents 104 businesses, it was reported at the annual meeting.

Latest to join were Desira, Man About Town and Just Another Label.

“I am really proud of what the Forum has achieved over the past 12 months and thank our members for their support,” said chair Kerry Kirby.

Treasurer Leigh Thurston said a surplus of £2,233 had been made during the year and subscriptions remained at £30. The Forum had raised £237 for Diss First Responders and a cheque was presented to Rachel Hillier.

Speaker Steve Millbank, a consultant at eras, gave members an insight into employee recruitment.

Officers re-elected were: Chair, Kerry Kirby; vice-chair Chris Bilson; treasurer Leigh Thurston; and secretary Edward Nottingham.

Next Forum event is a Budget breakfast at Diss Golf Club with Brian Bale from Lovewell Blake on April 13 and after that a cyber breakfast at the Park Hotel with Mark Hawes and Adam Patterson from Barclays on May 11.

On June 12, there is an In Business exhibition at Diss carnival and the summer drinks party is on July 13.
