A new Diss business initiative that aims to drive forward shopper footfall and commercial opportunities across the town has launched this week with 20 companies already united under its banner.
The Diss Business Forum Members Incentive Scheme has been set up to allow those possessing a valid membership card to benefit from free offers, exclusive privileges and discounts at numerous local businesses.
Kerry Kirby, chairman of Diss Business Forum and director of Diss business Splice Creative, told the Diss Express: “There is a buzz around the forum at the moment. People seem really enthusiastic and they are all really excited about getting involved. It’s something no-one else is doing in the town.
“We are keen to get more independent retailers on board. We saw this as a way for local people to do more business together.
“I think it will genuinely really help people, especially new businesses who want to get themselves known. We hope it will continue to grow and we hope in time that almost all of our members sign up to it.”
The business forum recently celebrated reaching 100 members, with a fifth of those having signed up to the scheme so far, from high street brands such as Costa Coffee to local companies like Fredricks Fine Foods.
According to the forum’s website, membership cards are currently being issued to all existing members and can be renewed annually, while new members will be sent a card once their annual subscription payment of £30 is processed.
