“Citizens Advice volunteers change lives. It is thanks to the generosity of our volunteers that Citizens Advice Diss, Thetford and District is able to help people take control of their finances, claim entitlements like sick pay and protect their rights at work,” she said: “There are many opportunities to volunteer at Citizens Advice and new volunteers are always welcome.”

Citizens Advice volunteers help to support people either face-to-face, over the phone or online on a multitude of issues, including dealing with debt, improving people’s financial skills, standing up for people’s rights at work, and helping people claim their entitlements, such as sick pay and maternity leave.

Volunteers also lend their time to IT, fundraising and administration.

Pat, who began volunteering at the branch nearly two years ago, added: “When I started as a volunteer I was worried that I didn’t have enough knowledge tohelp people but the training and support I have received means that I am now confident to help clients whatever their problem and I know that I can always get extra help if I need it.”
