Two teenagers arrested for manslaughter after boy is killed in possible firearms incident in Suffolk village

Two teenagers have been arrested after a 14-year-old boy died this afternoon in what police believe was a firearms incident.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 1.35pm today, Sunday May 1, following reports of a male having sustained life threatening injuries at an address in Thurston.

The injured teenager was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in a critical condition, where he sadly died a short while later.

At this early stage, police believe there was a discharge of a firearm, and are investigating the circumstances around the incident.

Police have arrested two teenage boys on suspicion of manslaughter, and they have been taken to Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
