A combine harvester fire in Stradbroke was battled for nearly an hour last night.
The incident happened in a wheat field in Rookery Lane at 6.46pm.
Three fire crews attended the scene. A spokesperson for the fire service said the combine was “allowed to burn” and was surrounded, with fears that the blaze could spread in the wheat field.
The incident was deemed under control by 7.42pm, but crews remained at the scene until 8.55pm.
There were no reported injuries.
