Business fair set to be another success
It has been all hands to the pump this month, getting ready for Diss On View.
Like last year, there was a mad flurry of last-minute wannabe exhibitors and speakers and it is now fully booked with a long waiting list.
On September 26, more than 20 businesses will be strutting their stuff along with a series of seminars that will prove of real value to any business.
On the topic of valuable information, one of our members, David Ryan of the security consultancy DRC, tipped me off about something of which I urge you all to take heed.
It seems the crafty IT criminals have come up with another new wheeze that could affect you at the office or if you use the web in public areas.
Apparently, a tiny widget called a key catcher (and I do mean tiny) can be placed on the back of a laptop or a terminal and capture and harvest all data including credit card transactions and personal data.
Even if your own computer isn't affected, you could easily become a victim.
And if someone happened to sneak one of these on to a computer at your office, chances are you'd be clueless.
One of these keycatchers was discovered attached to the back of a computer terminal in the Business Centre of a five-star London Hotel.
