Burglars ransack Harleston Co-op

A Co-operative store in Harleston has been burgled this morning.

At about 4am, a group of men forced their way into the shop, in Market Place, and stole a quantity of cigarettes and food before making off in a car and on a motorbike towards Eye.

Following a short pursuit of the car, two men, both aged in the early 20s and from the Northampton area, were arrested and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

The motorcyclists are still outstanding, with the motorbike being described as possibly as black Aprilla 125.

The store is currently closed but it is hoped it will reopen at some point later today, the Diss Express understands.
