Brownies bloom for cancer charity

There was nothing mini about it when the Diss 3rd (SA) Brownies took part in a Marie Curie Cancer mini pot day.

The Brownies were among more than 281,000 children across the country given a mini pot and a daffodil bulb to nurture to reflect the care Marie Curie nurses provide for their patients.

And the girls got together to decorate their pots before giving them to someone they care about in return for a donation to the charity.

Alison Davies, the pack's Tawny Owl, said: "The girls really enjoyed planting their daffodil bulbs and have had a great time painting their pots. By taking part in this simple and fun activity, the whole pack has been learning about the fantastic work of the Marie Curie Nurses and has raised 95 for the charity."

Mini Pots of Care forms part of the Great Daffodil Appeal, the charity's annual fundraising campaign which takes place throughout March.
