Blues and booze go well
East Harling was treated to a dose of real blues and real ale over the bank holiday weekend.
Believed to be the first real blues festival in living memory in Norfolk, the village's Blues 'n' Booze festival pulled in about 750 people during the course of the four-day event at the sports and social club in Church Road.
Dave Thomas, who lives in East Harling and organised the music, said: "The festival as a whole was an enormously encouraging start and it has already been decided it will run at the same time next year."
Listeners were treated to music from Dave Thomas himself with his Blues Band, Roadhouse, Egypt, the Grapevine Blues Band and Canada's Tony Henderson alongside many other performers.
Listeners were kept refreshed with real ales provided by Buffy's Brewery of Tivetshall St Mary as well as other breweries across the country.
Mr Thomas is hoping the event will grow and wants to bring American artists across the pond next year.

The event supported the East Anglian Air Ambulance and a charity CD of music recorded at the festival is available from Mr Thomas' website or at Sundown Guitars, Diss.
