Blooming fine reward for silver service
Two long-serving employees of Howard Nurseries, Wortham, have been rewarded for their 25 years of hard work.
Gavin Erith, of Wortham, and Peter Baxter, from Diss, were given specially made, hand-crafted clocks, as a reward for their commitment to one of the country’s best perennial producing companies.
A lunch and presentation ceremony took place at the nursery last Friday to mark their silver anniversary with the firm.
David Howard, who nurtured the company from a small allotment to the 150-acre plot it is today, said: “Twenty-five years in this day and age is unusual.
“We aim for quality and they have learned the skills to do the job which is good for business.”
Mr Erith said he enjoys the work because each season is a new challenge.
“It’s nice to be recognised for what we have done and to be appreciated.”
