Wind turbine companies will be putting their working turbine farms on display next weekend in an attempt to inform concerned communities of south Norfolk and north Suffolk about their plans.

Up to six wind farms could appear across the area if proposals go-ahead at Hempnall, Tivetshall, the Pulhams, Hethel, Mickfield and Parham.

Visitors to Wind Weekend 2008, organised by the British Wind Energy Association, will be able to tour operational wind turbine sites on June 14 and 15.

Sites at North Pickenham, near Swaffham, and Gulliver at Ness Point, Lowestoft, are among those open to the public, with representatives from Enertrag and SLP Energy on hand to answer questions.

A wind energy spokesman said: "The aim of the weekend is to give people living in areas of planned industrial station sites the chance to see and hear, first hand, how wind turbines impact the lives and health of the local community."
