A smoke alarm alerted the residents of a house to a fire in their kitchen on Thursday night.
Two fire engines were called to the house in Haugh Road, the B1077, in Banham at 6.18pm to put out the fire which started in a grill pan.

The residents, a man and a woman, were checked by paramedics for smoke inhalation but were not seriously hurt.

There was minor smoke damage in the kitchen and fire crews fitted three new smoke alarms to the house.
