There was a record turnout and some spectacular displays at the 10th Old Buckenham Air Show on Sunday.
More than 5,000 people passed through the gates to see displays including a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight by a Hurricane and Spitfire, and a North American P51D Mustang, which featured in the films Saving Private Ryan, Empire Of The Sun and Memphis Belle.
The event raised money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), which was given a boost of nearly £5,000 from last year’s show.
Commentator Eric Steenson, a former Red Arrows pilot, said: “We have had displays by the German-built Extra 300 and the French-built Cap 232, which are both premier performance aircrafts.
“The Cap 232 has been in international aerobatic competitions and flown in the Red Bull Air Race – it is right at the top end of performance aircraft.”
Visitors also enjoyed the dramatic S1 Swift Aerobatic Glider Display, which finished the blistering day of events.
