Olympic dreams were kindled as more than 120 children from across South Norfolk were put through their athletics paces at Diss sports ground last week.
The South Norfolk Schools Sports Partnership and Norfolk’s Competition Team combined to run an Athletics Development Day, supported by Diss Athletics Club.

Children from several of the area’s primary schools ran, jumped and threw to develop their abilities at various athletics disciplines.

Sports Leaders from Diss High School, under the supervision of the Competition Management team and Rosemary Bloom, the schools sports co-ordinator for the school, led each activity, providing instructions and support.

Schools competition manager Jon Eaton said: “The day went extremely well. Considering the wet weather, all the children were a real credit to their schools.”
