The final touches are being put to the timetable for next month's Diss Carnival and posters based on designs by pupils of Diss Infants School will soon be appearing around town.
Morgan Watson, Lauren Smith and Jack Marriott won prizes as part of a primary schools' competition to design posters to help publicise the carnival.

For the first time since 2001, the town centre will be centre stage for a procession of about 20 floats from various clubs, groups and businesses, on Sunday, June 22.

Leading the way will be Carnival Queen Charlotte Cox and her attendant Hayley Hume, who has won £50 courtesy of Officeline. The pair will ride in a horse-drawn carriage, supplied by Supreme Carriages, of Blo Norton, wearing dresses made by Mystique Couture.

The Carnival weekend starts on Saturday, June 21, with the Proms in the Park event at Diss Park, organised by Diss Rotary Club. It will feature the South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band.

Sunday's action starts at noon at Diss Mere where the East Anglian Working Newfoundlands will be going through their paces with a demonstration in the water. Hoxon Hundred morris dancers will also perform with a packed programme of fun, displays and musical entertainment at the football ground, as well as stalls.

Admission will be £2 with under-16s free if accompanied by an adult. Carnival programmes – including a £100 prize town treasure hunt – will be on sale from early June throughout Diss.
