Pensioner hurt in car accident

An 87 year-old woman was hurt following an accident with a BMW on Monday afternoon.

She was hurt at about 4.30pm at the junction between the A143 and Tunbeck road in Alburgh by a car being driven towards Bungay.

She was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in a critical condition having sustained serious injuries to her back and shoulder.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or the manner in which the car was driven prior to the accident to contact Pc Forbes Scott at the Road Policing Unit, Wymondham on 0845 456 4567.
