The owners of the Duke William pub in Metfield have undertaken extensive refurbishments in an effort to encourage local people back into the pub.
With a new focus on food, Vennesa and Paul Swan have invested in a big overhaul and changed the focus of the pub to a 'destination food pub'.

Refurbishments have included a new restaurant with a planned inglenook fireplace, a new-look bar and changes in the garden, including a new fence, to attract customers from the village back to their local pub.

"There has been a slow build in trade but yes, it has been difficult," said Mrs Swan. "It's not all doom and gloom and we do get some local people, but not as many as we would like.

"We want the traditional pub grub and we use local suppliers like the butchers in Halesworth and the Metfield pig herd."

Also on the menu are steak and ale pie, Metfield sausages and mash and liver and bacon casserole.
