Good weather and the draw of the
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight helped pull in an estimated crowd of 4,000-5,000.
Airshow organiser Paul Layzell said: "Our ninth airshow was once again very successful.
"Most of the people I saw were really enjoying themselves and it was nice to see so many families."
Mr Layzell said the graceful aerobatic glider display was a real crowd pleaser and the American P40 fighters performed breathtaking manoeuvres alongside other historical aircraft including Spitfires and Boeings.
He added: "The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight was an emotional sight for a lot of people, some of whom were pilots themselves in the war."
Trade stands also appeared to have a successful event, and the show's main charity, East Anglia's Children's Hospices were expected to raise a large amount of money thanks to the attendance.
Next year will mark the tenth anniversary of the show but Mr Layzell said fuel prices were becoming a problem.
"We will have to look closely at the cost of fuel next year with aviation fuel already at about £1.70 a litre," he said.
"But we are still hoping for a good event next year."
