A housing development has been approved in a south Norfolk village, against the recommendations of the planning officer.
Breckland Council's Development Control Committee gave the green light to 11 new homes on land in Lopham Road, East Harling on Monday.

As part of the approval, and because it lies outside of the settlement boundary, three of the homes will be affordable housing. The applicants will also have to make £2,500 available for improved pedestrian facilities in the village and advertise the application again.

Works at the site will include demolition of existing commercial buildings and a new access and estate road.

The planning officer and the parish council had both recommended refusal.
