Friends Chris Ardron and Ramsey Wilson set off on the drive of their lives tomorrow – heading for Mongolia in a 1992 VW Polo.
The pair are taking part in the Mongol Rally, which will see them spend 30 hours on the Trans Siberian Railway and drive 6,983 miles – all in aid of the charities Mercy Corps and Hope and Homes For Children.

Mr Ardon, who lives in Attleborough, said: "Two months ago it was a big joke but this whole week, I have been really nervous."

The friends will travel through countries including Germany, the Ukraine and Kazakhstan in the 1.2 litre car they bought on eBay, before arriving in Mongolia.

Once they reach there, team Polominted and others taking part in the challenge, will leave their cars and much of their equipment to be auctioned for charity.

"There are 101 things you have to think about before you go - and you only manage to get about 70 of them done," said Mr Ardron.
