Award for community project

A Harleston community project has won a regional award for transforming a closure-threatened store.
Harleston Information Plus (HIP) community partnership won the Business and Economy award at the Best Market Town Project ceremony, an East of England Development Agency initiative.
HIP accessed grant funding to buy Metfield community stores, which was due to close.
The property included a commercial kitchen, a salon and a flat, which have been transformed to provide new jobs as well as affordable housing.
