The Lord Bishop of Norwich, the Right Rev Graham James, opened the fifth annual 50 Christmas Trees in a Church event at Dickleburgh Church.
The bishop was joined by about 70 people all keen to be the first to see the display of decorated trees which, during the week-long event, are expected to attract about 3,000 visitors.

The Christmas trees festival runs until Sunday and is open today and tomorrow, 10am-7pm and on Sunday, 10am-5pm.

Admission is £3.50 for adults, £3 for senior citizens and concessions, £2.75 for pre-booked groups. It is free for children.

Prizes will be awarded for adult and children's entries, plus the Rector's prize for the most innovative tree.

  • Christmas lights go on today in Eye town centre at 6pm and in Harleston's Market Place at 6.30pm. Framlingham's festive fun starts on Sunday on Market Hill, 2pm.
