A History of Mellis Day takes place in Mellis Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 26, to reunite old school pupils and to share memories of the past.
Dorothy Dye, 'famous' in the village for her keen memories and her photographic collection spanning decades, has plenty of memories to share at the age of 94.

She will be on hand to talk about the village history and people in it, and others are encouraged to go and share their memories as well.

Organiser Angie Tuddenham said: "There are some really interesting stories, and we wanted to show the younger people in the village how things used to be.

"Everyone is welcome to come and talk. "

There will also be an exhibition of photographs from Mellis in the past, a guided tour around the village, old pub games in the Railway Tavern and a primary school exhibition.

Organisers are encouraging anyone who can identify themselves in the picture above to go along on the day to swap memories and have their photographs taken as a group again.

The event will be in Mellis Memorial Hall, 2-5pm, and money raised will go towards the village hall.

Admission is £1 and refreshments will be available.

For more details contact Angie Tuddenham, 01379 783156.
