The Diss and District edition of the Norfolk and Suffolk Express carried a report on the Diss bypass, a £6.4million project that would ease traffic in Victoria Road.

It was pencilled to start construction by 1996 and to be competed by the beginnin
g of the next century.

Coins found in Scole by Brian Read fetched £3,392 at action. Mr Read found the Roman coins while digging foundations for his bungalow.

Diss Town won their final game of the season, 1-0 against Stowmarket, with Paul Warne scoring the decisive goal.

It was the Tangerines' first season in the Jewson Premier League.
They finished fourth with Gary Smith named as player of the season.
