Readers continue to send in their memories. Geoffrey Bartrum, of Willbye Avenue, has written about playing for Eye in the South Norfolk Football League in the 1950s.
"We were playing against Rocklands, one Saturday and having transport problems were rescued by Billy Wilson, of Stuston, who had just become the owner of a Rolls Royce hearse.
"'I'll take you,' he said. We all squeezed in and away we went. I think we lost about 13-2 and as we came off the field, one of the locals said, 'They played like dead men as well!'
"Having seen a dance advertised, some of us went in the hearse the following Saturday to Rocklands Hall.
"During the evening a policeman asked who owned the hearse because it was parked outside a lady's house who had just buried her husband and she was a bit upset.
"Billy apologised to her and gave her two bottles of stout, and moved the hearse so all finished okay."
