Diss Express reader Kevin Elvin, of Willbye Avenue, is keen to share some photographs of his late mother, who died five years ago, in the hope that others in the pictures may recognise themselves.
The pictures show Jill Brown, who became Jill Elvin upon marriage, at school and at work.

His first picture shows his mother as a pupil at The Church School, which later became Diss Junior School. She is standing second from left at the back and the picture may possibly be of the school hockey team.

Mr Elvin believes the photograph was taken either at the end of, or just after, the Second World War.

The top two photographs are from the 1950s when his mother was working for Richard Emms at The Clothing Factory in Victoria Road, Diss.

The company made jeans and other garments. The pictures show what looks like a works outing, possibly to Great Yarmouth as there seems to be a rollercoaster in the background, and a works party which may have been a Christmas celebration.

In the party picture, the late Mrs Elvin is pictured in the centre front holding some balloons. Mr Elvin was able to name two other women in the picture – Joan Cobb, who was his aunt, and Doris Ward.
