Annette Sarahs, of Harleston, sent in details of a recent Memory Lane mystery carnival picture.
She said it was of her daughter Karen as the Harleston Carnival Queen in 1988. She was pictured with Carnival King Darren Blakesley and both were pupils at Archbishop Sancroft School.

"It was a lovely day for Karen as she had been suffering from glandular fever for months prior to that and it was just the boost she needed," said Mrs Sarahs.

"She was unable to sit her GCSEs and had to be assessed on them, although, when she joined the Royal Navy much later she decided to study for her GCSEs then and passed them.

"Karen (now Maskell) got married five years ago to an Australian and since then has been living in Australia – first in Perth and now in Brisbane in the Glasshouse Mountains.

"She has two lovely children, Holly and Jack, and works part-time for the Flight Centre part-time. Although she is missed very much, the life she has out there is incredible."
