Pop Idol star's theatre role

Former Pop Idol star Gareth Gates, who has become a West End success in Joseph, will be starring in the world tour of Les Misérables which reaches Norwich Theatre Royal next year.

He will play Marius in the brand new 25th anniversary production of the world’s longest-running musical which will run at the theatre from February 16 to March 10.

The singer shot to fame as the runner-up to Pop Idol winner Will Young in 2002. About 13,000 seats have already been sold for the show’s visit to Norwich. Tickets are 6 to 45 with discounts for over 60s, under 18s and groups. Call the box office, 01693 630000.
