Exhibition set to cross the boundaries
AN ecelectic mix of arts and crafts from East Anglian artists is set to go on display at a new exhibition in Cavern 4, Bury St Edmunds.
Entitled Crossing The Boundaries, the exhibition is made up of work from seven artists from the Suffolk and Cambridge Open Studio and the title of the show refers to the eclectic mix of disciplines encompassed by the artists.
The featured artists are: Susan Cuppitt, who produces domestic stoneware and experiments with form; Julie Baker, who paints fen landscapes and creates stitched works; Glyn Hall, a wood turner who uses English timbers to create vases and sculptures; Rose Martin, who paints on silk and velvet; Edmund Oxborrow, who creates pictures from driftwood; Claire Turner, who makes delicate bowls from acrylic fibres; and Kay Herbert, who makes gold and silver jewellery with semi-precious stones.
The Crossing The Boundaries exhibition will run be held at Cavern 4, in Whiting Street, from October 22 until November 1 and items on display will be available to buy.
Cavern 4 is run by Workwise, a charity which offers employment opportunities to people with mental health problems.
