Curtain to go up on Debenham Players’ pantomime
Performances of the Debenham Players’ pantomime Beauty and the Beast will begin in the community centre tomorrow evening.
See Dame Jolly and her two daughters Chard’nay and Lambrini, Belle, the responsible bachelor Jean-Claude and the pantomime villain Countess Cruella take to the stage in their electric take on the classic story, performed by a cast of 20.
Director Oliver Hallpike, said: “The hope is that the fun we have been having in the rehearsal room will be translated onto the stage.”
Traditionally, ten per cent of ticket sales are donated to charity, but this year, the players will be fundraising to replace their old costume and prop shed which is rotting and has a rat problem.
Performances will be held at Debenham Community Centre tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday at 7.30pm with a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday.
Tickets, which cost £6 or £4 for children on weekdays and £7 or £5 for children on Saturday, are available from debenham-players.org.uk or from Deben Rose in Debenham.
