Craft day makes waves

Children's creativeness was encouraged this week by an arts and crafts event in Diss Library.

The Norfolk Family Learning Programme has been visiting libraries in south Norfolk to involve youngsters in fun and craft activities.

Tania Amies, leader of the art sessions, said: "These events are really good fun for children and toddlers and can involve all the family".

After being read Marcus Pfister's The Rainbow Fish, the children began to create a fabulous array of bright, ocean-themed artworks.

The library was transformed into an undersea world with blue jellyfish, orange octopuses and shimmering rainbow fish made from tissue paper, balloons and shiny stickers.

The Norfolk Family Learning Programme returns to Diss on August 26, 2pm with an Olympics themed event.
