Alternative Olympic fun

Redgrave will host its very own Olympic Games on the fields of the Cross Keys pub on Sunday, 1-6pm.

The games will feature traditional sports with a twist, including mobile phone putting instead of shot putting and the slow bicycle race, where the slowest cyclist without setting foot on the ground wins.

Ian Brown, who helped organised the event, said: "We just thought that with the Olympics here, we can do better than Beijing!"

Admission costs 2.50 for children under 12 and 3 for adults.

For more details, call Bernie Cresswell, 01379 890514, or Ian Brown, 01379 890576.
