Album Review: The Horrors - Primary Colours (XL Recordings)
The exotically coiffed Horrors' debut album was one of the worst releases of 2007. Their garage rock influences could not be faulted but on record they sounded, well, horrific.
For album number two, they have enlisted Portishead studio boffin Geoff Barrow to help provide the elusive missing link.
The Horrors have also expanded their instrumental palette by adding vintage synthesizers, resulting in a record that sounds like the lovechild of Nick Cave and My Bloody Valentine's Loveless.
Although still not justifying the hype, Primary Colours is still a technicolour treat.
